Tubsy

The first specific baby doll I ever asked for. My cousin, Sue Ann and I both got one of these for Christmas of my 1st grade year. I loved this doll SO much. I must have given her 20 or 30 baths on Christmas Eve. I wore her batteries out quickly. She was a lot of fun to play with. During December of that year, Kress's had had one out on display and unlike the other stores in town that carried toys, Kress's not only didn't mind if kids played with their demo toys, but actually encouraged it. A very nice store clerk saw me standing in front of Tubsy all wide-eyed and excited one day and she let me play with her. No store clerk had ever told me it was o.k. to play with their toys before. I thought that was absolutely Christmas miraculous. LOL And of course, once I actually played with Tubsy in the store, I couldn't wait to get one of my own.FYI: A toy designed to go into water, yet also requiring batteries is not the greatest engineering masterpiece of the 20th century. I'm just sayin'. lol
