Slinky
I've always loved this toy and over the years, I've owned dozens of them in every size and color. Actually, I have one right now! lol But it's the original slinky, in the original box that fills me with that familiar childlike sentimentality. When it comes to my childhood memories, original packaging is everything. I must add, however, that the manufacturers lie and lie big. Every kid I have ever known has owned a slinky and yet, in all my years upon this earth, I've never known even one who succeeded in getting that freaking metal spring to walk down the stairs. I'm no physicist but I know impossible when I see it and getting a slinky to walk down an entire flight of stairs without stopping or falling over is definitively impossible. Just like my dream of fitting into the swimsuits of my youth, slinkies walking down stairs "ain't" ever gonna happen. : )
