Reel To Reel Tape Recorders
My parents had one of these and I spent many a long Sunday afternoon after church playing with it. I loved hearing myself sing on tape (future vocal music teacher in training, I suppose) so I sang every song I ever knew into that thing. It was a blast. Our kids do that with their Flip camera, etc. now. I guess all kids want to grow up to be rock stars. LOLThe songs I most remember singing into the tape recorder were Christmas carols and my dad's campaign song. I sang that one a million times. He and I wrote it together one afternoon (he did most of the writing as I was only in the 4th grade) with the plan to sing it together on the campaign trail but I guess he was afraid to give it a try because we never actually got around to doing that. I had my little red, white, and blue campaign dress so I was ready to go in a moment's notice and thanks to the tape recorder, I had it memorized backwards, forwards, and every way in between. lol
