They Made Boats, Too!
Plastic boats were also a mainstay of the toy aisle during my day. These might not look like much but they provided a lot more fun to bath time. We also took them to the wading pool with us and had great fun racing them across the "ocean" that was that little place. I can't remember for sure what these retailed for but it was less than a dollar. My best guess would be that they cost about $.49 - $.69. If you don't know how to have hours of innocent fun with a .49 boat-shaped hunk of plastic, then you have had a deprived childhood. Seriously.
* Bernie, do you have any pics of our old REAL boat? I sure would love to see it again. We had a ball on that thing back in the day, didn't we?
