Putting and Such
I don't know what these are called but they are for indoor putting and my dad always had one. I used to love to get it out (along with one of his golf clubs and a ball) and play with it. It seemed like such a cool, big thing back then but then, before video game technology came alone, what didn't?
Related: I got to go to the golf course with my dad a few times over the years. He would always spend the money to rent an extra cart so I could drive alongside of him which was great fun for me, especially as a kid in my pre-driving days. After he moved to L*****, we went out on the golf course up there a time or two and he tried to teach me to play. I enjoyed the time with him a lot but golf just wasn't my kind of game. Too much waiting, not enough playing.
Just after we first married, Kit decided he wanted to try to learn to play so that he and my dad could have something fun in common. They played golf on Nintendo together every time my parents visited us so they both thought it might be fun to go try the real thing. My parents and I got new golf clubs, golf bag, etc. for Kit for Christmas '91. That following Easter, we all spent a whole day at Arrowhead. That still remains one of my very favorite adult Easter memories. It was a beautiful day and we had great fun. Princess Jordy had a blast riding around in the golf cart with her Papa and Mom Mom. Prince Kit and I followed behind in our own cart. I laughed my head off the first time Kit tried to hit a real golf ball. So much so that my dad gently hushed me, worrying that the other golfers around us would complain about the noise I was making. LOLOL It was hilarious and the humongous divot Kit left in the ground is probably still there to prove it. lol
