Salt maps for Social Studies! Remember those? Mine always looked amazing. But before you think I'm patting myself on the back and bragging, I need to tell you that mine only looked good because my brother was super good at making them. I completely stunk at it. I never learned to mix the stuff correctly and I could never draw. I was a singer, not an artist. I couldn't draw a map of America or the West Indies if you had offered to pay me a million dollars for my efforts. My brother was terrific at art though and he made the prettiest salt maps I have ever seen. My teacher gave us permission to get parents and siblings to work on them with us so I pretty much just gathered the supplies and kept his pop glass full while he did all the hard stuff. LOL Thanks, Bernie. Your salt maps were awesome!
