Real Saturday Morning Cartoons
Kids today don't know what they're missing. My generation had the best cartoons ever made. They were so good that I would often get up before 7:00 a.m. in order to make sure I didn't miss a single minute of them. The years during which the Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, The Beatles, and the The Jackson 5 were included in the Saturday morning line-up were the absolute best in all of cartoon history. I loved them SO much and wish like crazy that I could find all of them on dvd so I could relive those charming, innocent days when dragging your pillow and blanket off of your bed and into the living room just after the sun had become to come up on a weekend morning so you could go ahead and start watching your favorite 'toons while your body worked to fully awaken was an exciting event that you eagerly anticipated all week long.
*One of my favorite Saturday morning memories is that Bernie and I both loved Spiderman so we would watch that together every week. For 30 minutes, the age difference between us was suspended and we were just a cou[le of innocent little kids watching cartoons. I loved that. We watched other cartoons together through the years but the Spiderman memory is the one I ost remember.
*Update: My brother surprised me with DVD copies of the Beatles cartoons!!! Thank you, Bernie! I love you!!
