Mystery Date
By far, hands down, without a doubt, my all-time favorite board game from my childhood days. Just the sight of the box fills me with unspeakable joy. This was one of those "I can't believe I really have this and it's mine" kind of things. I was so excited to get this game and I played it constantly, whether friends were over or not. If no one was available to play, I would just play by myself. It didn't matter one way or the other to me. I just loved playing it. Pat and Rhonda would play it with me when they were over because they really liked it, too. But Bernie would never go for it. Imagine that! LOLOL
A few years ago, I searched and searched on ebay for an original Mystery Date but couldn't find one for an affordable price. Much to my delight, Milton Bradley noticed the massive interest online for the game and made the decision to re-release it about three years ago. I snatched it up immediately for our girls, and, for me. LOL Prince Kit was a real sport about it that Christmas. He humored us and played it for hours every night during the school break. I doubt that it proved to be as big a deal to our kids as it was to me. There is no rhyme or reason as to why a particular toy or game will become especially dear to a child. I'm sure they will have their own special toy memories when they are grown. If their dad and I have anything to say about it, they will. We have always tried to give them as many of their favorite toys as possible because we both remember how much they meant to us when we were young. It meant the world to me to pass this game on to my children and every time I play it with them, I am blessed with a beautifully sentimental experience.
