Label Makers
These were not designed to be toys but when I was in school, that's exactly how we used them. Once a year or so, I would buy one of these, as would some of my friends, and would make labels for everything under the sun just for fun. We labeled all of our school stuff, some of our toys, our lunchboxes, bedroom doors (the tape never stuck very well on wood so that was a waste) and everything else that belonged to us. We just liked seeing our name or other random phrases printed out on that tape. We wasted a lot of tape. My mom was a good sport. She would buy a new roll of tape for me every time she went to town and I would use it right up. Eventually I would get bored and stop playing with it for several months but sooner or later, I would pick it back up, buy a load of label-making tape, and start my obsession all over again.
