I'm A Barbie Girl In A Barbie World!!!!!

Barbie Piece de Resitance #1
The Amazing Barbie Country Camper!!!!
I LOVED this thing!!!!!!

Below are some of the accessories that came with the Barbie Camper. I thought that the television and stereo were just the bomb. My Barbie dolls could sit outside and watch t.v. or listen to music! Back then, portable items such as that were things we only saw in the movies. We couldn't imagine one day having ipods, cell phones, and handheld televisions that were portable and affordable. That was crazy science fiction talk!  LOL

My first Barbie cases looked like these and I still love them more than the molded plastic ones they have today. I don't know why but there was just something really cool about having a designated Barbie case to put all of my Barbie clothes, etc. in and carry around. I had as much fun neatly packing the case as I did playing with the dolls.  What can I say? I'm OCD through and through.  : )

The original Barbie cases were slender and designed to hold only one Barbie. Later, they released a double-sized case that held at least two Barbies (it would actually hold more if you wanted, but there were two actual slots in the design for the Barbies to fit into neatly) and twice as many clothes, shoes, and other accessories. Jana and I were SO excited to get the bigger case and you can bet that we filled them up and still needed MORE space!  Our Barbies had fierce wardrobes, don't you know!  LOL

First, there was regular Ken, then Malibu Ken (woot!) and then!!!! TALKING Malibu Ken!!! Every toy talks today but back then, that wasn't the case so it was a REALLY big deal!  lol

This is original packaging for the talking Malibu Ken. (It's also original packaging for all of the other Barbie things on this post, as well, which I LOVE) Notice they went to the trouble of mentioning on the box that Ken has "bendable legs". When the Malibu dolls came out, they not only had the very hip and happening tans but they also had bendable legs which was a brand new thing with dolls at that time. Have you ever tried to put a stiff-legged doll into the seat of a camper or an airplane?  Yeah. It doesn't work and that was always frustrating. I was so excited to have dolls that had bendable legs. They could be adjusted in two or three positions, depending on how much you needed their legs to bend in order to fit into a specific seat or vehicle. I remember Lynn and I thinking that was just astounding.

Barbie Piece de Resistance #2
The Barbie Friendship
As with the camper, I had hours and hours and hours of fun with this thing! I still get a tingly feeling inside when I see pictures of these things. I so wish my dad had not given all of my Barbie stuff away. It was supposed to go to my own little girls. I took really great care of it broke my heart when I saw all of it being left out in the yard by the dirty little pigs who temporarily moved into our house after we were forced to leave it.

I love and miss him so I will not get angry.

I love and miss him.....

Malibu Barbie was my favorite Barbie. She was much prettier than her pasty predecessor. I lived at the pool as a kid and I loved the deep, dark tanned skin that I always had because of that. I know it's not healthy but tan skin is beautiful. Malibu Barbie was ultra hip in my book. I loved her.

Malibu Ken? Oh, yes! I LOVED him. I thought he was the most handsome boy in all the land!  lol

Barbie's little sister, Skipper. She took many a camper/airplane trip with Ken and Barbie and oh, what adventures we all did have!  I miss spending an entire day just using my imagination to experience the world through my Barbies. Kids today don't have any idea what fun that really was.
